Insurance & Payment

Out of network. Here is how payment works.

Healthy Child Connections is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance directly. Families pay the practice for services.

How payment works

  1. 1

    You pay the practice.

We are out of network, so families pay for services directly rather than billing insurance here.

  2. 2

    We give you a superbill.

A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

  3. 3

    Your plan may reimburse you.

Many families receive partial reimbursement. Your plan decides whether it reimburses, and how much.

Questions to ask your insurance company

A quick call to the number on your member card is the fastest way to know what your plan will cover.

  • Does my plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible, and has it been met?
  • How much will my plan reimburse for this service?
  • How do I submit a superbill?

Good to know

Reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by plan, so please check with your insurance company before you begin.

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. You will receive it before your first appointment.
