My story
It started in the classroom
I spent six years as a special education teacher in the School District of Philadelphia. I kept noticing the same gap: schools, communities, and medical providers worked separately, even when they were supporting the same child.
Why I went back to school
I wanted to learn how psychologists can work alongside pediatricians, teachers, and families, so a child's care is connected instead of scattered across offices.
What I keep seeing
Families with a health concern who don't know how to talk to their child's school. Families with a school concern who don't know how to loop in their pediatrician.
Children fall through the cracks, not because no one cares, but because the systems aren't connected.
That's why I started Healthy Child Connections, so families and caregivers have someone in their corner who speaks both languages. In practice, that can mean consulting with a pediatrician, attending a school meeting, or coaching caregivers through the daily moments that matter most.
Training
- PhD in Pediatric School Psychology, East Carolina University

Why I do this work
Prevention, not just intervention
Most families reach out once a concern has shown up: a meltdown, a struggle at school, trouble with big feelings. The same skills that help in those moments can be taught earlier, before problems take hold.
Small things make a big difference. Clear instructions, noticing and praising good behavior, and staying calm so kids can learn to do the same.

A bit more about me
I'm building this practice while spending more time with my own family. Outside of work, you'll find me staying active, traveling, reading, or with my family and dogs.
